Reading / English & Dutch

Master Reading Comprehension

Short, levelled stories, interactive quizzes and progress tracking help children practise reading comprehension at home or in the classroom.

Available in English as Master Reading Comprehension for Grades 1-5, and in Dutch as Begrijpend Lezen for groups 6, 7 and 8.

Screens from the Dutch edition, Begrijpend Lezen.

Problem

Reading practice can become worksheet-heavy or visually noisy. The product needed short practice sessions that feel focused enough for young readers and structured enough for parents or teachers.

Audience

Elementary learners in grades 1-5, with adults who want a calm way to support reading comprehension, fluency and confidence at home or in a classroom setting.

Approach

Grade-based content, story-led exercises, quick quizzes, predictable navigation and a product structure that can support future story sets and learning updates.

Technology

Mobile app product architecture for iPhone and iPad distribution, with reusable content patterns and a maintainable foundation for iterative product work.

UX decisions

Readable screens, clear next actions, restrained visual treatment and interaction patterns that keep the learner in the exercise instead of the interface.

Result

A visible education product that demonstrates New-impulse media’s learning-app judgement: focused scope, practical UI and long-term maintainability.

What this means for client work

The visible portfolio is deliberately small. The more important pattern is how product decisions are made: define the real workflow, remove avoidable complexity and design a product that can be maintained after release.

  • Product strategy before implementation detail.
  • UI/UX design that supports trust, clarity and repeated use.
  • App and web architecture that can survive real maintenance.
  • Practical AI and automation only where it improves the workflow.
  • Clear communication for product owners, innovation teams and larger organizations.
